Tag, I'm It--The Next Big Thing

What is your working title of your book? Twist of Fate - one of three Christmas novellas in the book ALL I WANT

Where did the idea come from for the book? A year ago, I approached both Jolene Perry and Kaylee Balwin with this idea. They thought it sounded like a fun idea, and well, here we are.

What genre does your book fall under?
Contemporary romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
No idea. Possibly Amy Adams and  a younger Hugh Jackman?

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
When a postcard meant for Kenzie winds up in Ty's mailbox, Ty's faced with a decision. Should he tell her that her fiancĂ© is breaking up with her and let it ruin her favorite holiday, or should he do what he’s wanted to do since he met her - make a move and hope that he can win her over before she discovers there won’t be a wedding after all?

Okay, so it's two sentences instead of one. Woops. :)

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Self-published-yay! Love being in control.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? May we see an intro?
About three weeks. (It's only 25K words). Yeah, I'm slow. :)

Intro:
Two booted feet rested on the top stair as Ty McKenzie walked into the Lakeland Hills apartment complex. He followed the boots up to slim, denim-clad legs. Two hands rested on top of the woman’s knees, clutching an opened letter that blocked her face.
“Your mom wants to come and visit you.” The letter moved down, revealing Kenzie Tyler’s face. Long, curly auburn hair fell to her shoulders, with a ringlet dangling near one of her blue eyes.
Ty raised an eyebrow and lifted a key to his mailbox. “How many times do I have to tell you that opening other people’s mail is a crime? Just because it shows up in your box doesn’t mean it’s yours.” Not that Kenzie would care. When it came to letters from his mom, she had absolutely no respect for privacy laws.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Kaylee Baldwin's Six Days of Christmas--another story included in the book.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?
I can't really say for sure. Christmas? :)

What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?
Pretty Near Perfect, by Jolene Perry--a cute story about a displaced girl finding love in the home of her deceased fiance's parents' home.

Six Days of Christmas, by Kaylee Baldwin--a totally fun story about a girl who's trying to write a winning ad campaign during Christmas chaos at her best friend's home, while attempting not to fall in love with her best friend's brother.
